More Than a Vineyard: The Feeling Behind Rooted North

September 23, 2026

Some of our favorite days are the ones without much of a plan. You stop in for a glass of wine and end up staying for another. Friends settle around a table and lose track of time. The sun starts to dip, someone orders something else to share, and suddenly a quick afternoon visit has turned into an evening.

Those are the moments we love—and a big part of what we are all about.

There’s a natural rhythm to life on the North Fork that changes with the seasons. Summer gives us long afternoons outside and evenings that seem to stretch on forever. Harvest brings an entirely different kind of energy as grapes start coming in and the vineyard is at its busiest. Fall brings cooler nights, fire pits, and some of our favorite sunsets of the year. By winter, everything slows down again.

When you spend your days in a vineyard, you can’t help but become connected to that rhythm. Over the years, it has shaped the way we make wine, but it has also shaped the kind of experience we want to share with people.

We’ve never believed that enjoying wine needs to be complicated. You might walk into the tasting room knowing exactly what you like, or you might have no idea where to start. Either is perfectly fine, that’s why we are here. Ask us questions. Try something you’ve never heard of. Bring a few friends and spend the afternoon outside. Share something to eat. Stay to watch the sunset.

For us, wine has always been as much about those moments as it is about what’s in the glass.

It’s Sparkling Pinot Blanc opened with friends. A crisp white after a day at the beach. Chardonnay around a Sunday lunch that goes much longer than expected. Merlot by the fire pit when the first cool evenings arrive. Cabernet Franc with dinner on a Tuesday night.

Of course, there are bottles we save for birthdays, anniversaries, and big celebrations. But some of the best bottles are the ones we open simply because we’re together.

That idea is at the core of Rooted North.

As we thought about this next chapter, we wanted the winery to feel more like the experience we’ve always loved creating: warm and thoughtful, but never formal. A place where you can learn something about wine without feeling like a lecture. Where the wines are taken seriously, but enjoying them doesn’t have to be.

Maybe that means sparkling at sunset. Maybe it’s an afternoon catching up with friends, a Friday evening around the fire pit, or a bottle shipped home that gets opened months later around your own table.

Wherever it happens, we hope our wines become part of the moments you remember.

Because years from now, you may not remember every tasting note from the bottle you opened. But there’s a pretty good chance you’ll remember who you shared it with.

Come for the wine. Stay for everything that happens around it.
